DC Kishtwar inaugurates Swachhta Pakhwada in the District

Stresses upon commitment to contribute to society by keeping our community clean


KISHTWAR, AUGUST 01: The Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav inaugurated the Swachhta Pakhwada in a ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the DC office, today. The event commenced with the Swachhta Pledge by all participants.


The Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar flagged off the SBM Waste Collection Vehicles in presence of SSP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom, ADDC Kishtwar Ghulam Rasool, CEO Kishtwar Development Authority Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma, ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh, CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali, DO PCB Mohan Lal Snehi, EO Municipality Amit Choudary, AD Planning Ashraf Wani besides others.


In his address, the DC Kishtwar emphasized the importance of individual commitment to maintaining cleanliness. He urged all residents to volunteer and actively participate, emphasizing the need for involvement from all age groups to ensure a cleaner, greener environment for all.


SSP Kishtwar emphasized the role of cleanliness and the formation of Swachhta Committees at the district, panchayat, and mohalla levels, highlighting the importance of keeping the historic Chowgan Ground clean to protect our heritage.


ACD Kishtwar stressed the need for cleanliness in every sphere of life, including the segregation of plastic waste and other aspects of cleanliness.


BDO Kishtwar Sanjeev Kotwal shared his experience on the transformation of sanitation in the Kishtwar town area, covering all 12 panchayats.


EO MC emphasized the role of students in the Swachhta Pakhwada and provided insights into the launch of a toll-free number for sanitation complaints.


The Swachhta Pakhwada will include various activities as per the plan by district administration Kishtwar aimed at promoting sanitation and environmental awareness, with the involvement of local communities, schools, and government departments.


Students of Kidzee Kishtwar along with other students from GBHSS Kishtwar, performed a live demonstration regarding the segregation of different types of waste.


An extempore debate was also conducted among students of GDC Kishtwar. Participants of the Debate were felicitated on this occasion.


The inaugural ceremony also witnessed the presence of DSWO Kishtwar Zubair Ahmed Lone, CHO Kishtwar Sajjid Mustafa, CMO Kishtwar Dr Rajinder Kumar, BDO Thakraie Chahat Bharti, ExEn PHED Sunil Sharma among others.
