DC Kishtwar presides over function at Islamia Faridia Hr Sec School
KISHTWAR, JUNE 20: Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav, presided over a programme at Islamia Faridia Higher Secondary School Kishtwar. He reviewed the institution’s functioning and achievements in a Parent Teacher Meet (PTM) and listened to suggestions from parents.
An Islamic Quiz competition was also held with 13 teams participating. During the event, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar felicitated the topper of the 12th class Board exam with medals and certificates. He also unveiled a book titled “History and Teachings of Hazrat Shah Farid-Ud-Din Baghdadi (RA) and URS Celebration in Kishtwar” written by ACP Kishtwar/Administrator Waqf Board JK Kishtwar.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Islamia Faridia Higher Secondary School in imparting quality education. He underscored the importance of religious teachings for the development of a progressive and peaceful society.
The event was attended by ACP Kishtwar/Administrator Waqf Board JK Kishtwar, Zakir Hussain Wani; Principal Mehboob Ahmed Qazi; socio-religious personalities and students.
Later, accompanied by Administrator Waqf Board JK, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar visited the shrine of Hazrat Shah Farid-Ud-Din Baghdadi (RA) to pay obeisance. He also inaugurated a Mehfil e Naat & Sufi Mushaira organised by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL).
The programme aimed to revive the rich heritage of Sufism in Jammu and Kashmir while familiarising people with its teachings. Prominent personalities including Imam Markazi Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed Kichloo; renowned poets; socio-religious figures and Sufi enthusiasts actively participated in the programme.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar acknowledged the significance of Sufism in promoting peace, harmony and cultural heritage in the region. He also extended felicitations on Urs Shah Farid Ud Din and prayed for peace, prosperity and development in the district.
