DC Kulgam reviews Export Promotion Action Plan
Stresses to enhance production of Garlic, Red Chillies by 20% in current year
KULGAM, January 16: With a vision to enhance the Export Promotion from the district and to make the district an export hub to boost the local economy, a meeting of the District Level Export Promotion Committee was today held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan.
The meeting discussed the modalities for formulating a detailed Export Promotion Action Plan for the Kulgam district.
During the meeting, GM DIC, Bashir Ahmad through a PowerPoint presentation shared a blueprint regarding the District Export Promotion Plan and it was given out that Red Chillies and Garlic have been identified under One District One Product (ODOP) (a government of India initiative) in Kulgam District.
The DC took a detailed appraisal of the measures undertaken for boosting exports of various products that are being produced in the district.
He instructed the concerned officers to mobilize their technical staff and ensure an increment in production of Red Chillies and Garlic by 20 percent this year.
Comprehensive discussion on the subject was held wherein various issues about the finalization of the District Export Action Plan were discussed and DC directed to put the final export plan for approval in the next meeting after revisiting the Draft Plan.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather; JDP Zahid Sajjad; GM DIC, DM NABARD, CHO, CAO and other officers.
