DC Kulgam reviews functioning of Eklavya Model Residential School Tangmarg

KULGAM, April 28: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the functioning of the Eklavya Model Residential School Tangmarg.

During the meeting, the CEO informed the chair about the available facilities and additional requirements of the residential school.

He also informed that presently there are 60 students enrolled in the Residential school and this year there will be addition of more 70 students.

The DC emphasized the significance of providing quality education to tribal students. He further stressed the importance of ensuring that the students have access to all necessary resources to excel in their academic pursuits, including extra-curricular activities.

Dr Bilal also highlighted the need for regular monitoring of the academic progress of the students and stressed to ensure availability of requisite facilities for the students at the residential School.

The Eklavya Model Residential School is an ambitious initiative of the Government of India to facilitate tribal students in obtaining quality education and enabling them to compete with students from other parts of the country.

The meeting was attended by JD-P Zahid Sajjad, SDM Noorabad Bashir Ul Hassan, GM DIC Bashir Ahmad, CEO Mushtaq Ahmad Qadri, Principal Abdul Gani Bhat and other officers.
