DC Kupwara visits Snowbound Karnah; inspects delivery of public services in sub-division

KUPWARA, January 18: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray along with SSP Kupwara Yougal Manhas today held an extensive tour of Snow bound Karnah sub-division to take stock of various public services.
During the visit, the DC carried out a series of activities, visited Sub District Hospital Tangdar and inspected various sections of the hospital including Emergency ward, Operation Theatre, OPD, IPD, X-Ray, Paediatrics etc. He checked the attendance of doctors and medical staff and directed them to work with added zeal for proper treatment of the patients. He also took stock of supply positions and availability of medicine in the Hospital.
The DC interacted with the patients and enquired about the healthcare services who expressed their satisfaction over the facilities.
SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather, Tehsildar and other concerned officers accompanied the DC.
The DC also inspected Receiving Station Tangdar and took stock of feeders and power supply.
The DC chaired a joint meeting of all subdivision level officers and public representatives, Sarpanches, Panchs at DakBanglow Tangdhar.
SSP Kupwara Yougal Manhas, SDM Karnah Dr.Gulzar Ahmad Rather, Tehsildar, BDO ,Xen Special Subdivision and other concerned officers were present in the meeting .
The DC said that the aim of his visit to Karnah was to check the public service delivery and assess the problems of people in the area during the winter months. He said Karnah sub-division is the top most priority of District Administration and efforts are on to provide better services to the public.
BDC Chairperson Tangdhar, Abdul Rahim Mir briefed the DC about the public issues.
The DC took a detailed review of all developmental works and welfare programmes and received updated status and feedback from the SDM, officers and the representatives. He also reviewed the status of old age pension cases and asked the concerned to speed up the process of cases and facilitate old aged persons properly.
DC also reviewed the stock and supply position of food grains and other essential commodities.
During the visit, the DC met various public delegations who apprised him about their day to day developmental issues. He heard them patiently and resolved various issues on the spot.
