DC launches door to door waste collection, Swachhta Campaign from Dali-Udhyanpur Block
Urges people to join hands with Administration to make Doda District Swach & Sunder
DODA, July 06: Door to Door Waste Collection initiative was kick-started today by Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan here from Block Dali-Udhyanpur. Assistant Commissioner Development, Phulail Singh; Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Ashfaq Khanji; DPO, Suraj Parkash and local Yasir Wani, besides PRIs and people of the Block also attended the launch function. The people expressed their satisfaction over the initiatives/ efforts taken by the administration towards making the Block Swach and clean through Door to Door collection of waste and other steps taken in this regard.
It was informed that the Door to Door waste collection will be done twice a week and people pledged to cooperate with the administration to make the whole Block of Dali-Udhyanpur Swatch, Clean and ODF plus.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan aims at making cleanliness a habit for all while making available the support system and infrastructure for waste collection and its proper disposal.
The DC launched the door to door collection of different kinds of waste and IEC activities as per the approved district Swachhta Plan. A special purpose vehicle, “Swachhta Express” was flagged off from the Punda village of Panchayat Dhar-B, Dali-Udhyanpur Block, which shall collect the waste from every ward of the Block and disseminate among locals about the importance of cleanliness and protection of environment.
Diverse IEC activities have been planned to be carried out in the district to achieve the status of ODF Plus. Dustbins were distributed during the programme, which shall be placed in all the 63 wards of the Dali Udhyanpur Block.
The DC instructed the concerned officers to make persistent efforts to spread the message of the Swachhta and ensure door to door collection of segregated waste and its proper disposal which is crucial for achieving desired Swachhta plus status for the district. He further urged the locals and PRIs to join hands with the administration to make the Block Swachh and Sunder. Nature has bestowed this district with the best of its beauty, environment, purity, serenity, and sustainability, we owe the responsibility to protect and conserve it for our future existence, he reiterated.
