DC lays foundation stone of intake and RSFP for WSS Jakhar

UDHAMPUR, August 23: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Saloni Rai today visited Jakhar and laid foundation stone of intake and construction of 10,000 GPH Rapid Sand Filtration Plant of Water Supply Scheme taken up under Central Government flagship programme “Jal Jeevan Mission” at an estimated cost of Rs.967.85 lacs.

The PRIs and a large number of public of the area attended the foundation laying ceremony in presence of Executive Engineer, Ashok Kumar Sharma, AEE and other technical team of Jal Shakti Department.

While briefing the media persons, the DC informed that around 767 households will be benefited by the FHTC. She added that the Water Supply Scheme was the long pending demand of the area and asserted that the project will be completed within the set deadline. She reiterated that numerous JJM projects are going on across the district on a war footing basis to provide tap water connection to every household as provided under the Mission.

The DC also appreciated the tireless effort made by Jal Shakti Department for effective implementation of JJM and directed them to expedite progress and complete as per the given timeline.

The DC also interacted with the locals who thanked the Government for Water Supply Scheme for the area.
