DC Leh chaired meeting of District Level Committee under NCORD 

Leh, Feb 13,2024: A review meeting of the District Level Committee under the Narco Coordination Center (NCORD) Mechanism was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhdeve today on February 13 at the VC conference hall.

The meeting focused on assessing ongoing initiatives and enhancing collaborative endeavors to combat the menace of drug abuse.

SSP Leh, Shruti Arora, provided an overview of apprehended cases under NCORD in Leh District. Additionally, DC Leh reviewed the progress of drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centers in the district.

District Social Welfare Department, Leh, submitted an awareness video on drug de-addiction and alternative activities to prevent drug addiction. Similarly, the Information Department, Leh, provided an awareness video on drug de-addiction.

Recognizing the pivotal role of education in prevention, DC Leh instructed the Chief Education Officer, Leh  to organize mass awareness programs in schools. Emphasizing the importance of proactive engagement, he advocated for the widespread dissemination of awareness videos on drug de-addiction to educate and empower students.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Leh; Chief Education Officer, Leh; and Assistant Director, Information Department Leh.
