DC Leh chairs district-level Aadhaar monitoring committee meeting
Reviews status of Aadhar enrollment and Aadhar seeding in Leh District
LEH, March 15: To review the status of Aadhaar enrolment and to strengthen Aadhaar seeding, Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse chaired a meeting of District-Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee today at VC Hall.
Assistant Manager, UIDAI, Leh, Stanzin Dhonsal presented a detailed report on the ongoing Aadhar enrolment camps and the status of overall live Aadhaar enrolment in the district under various age groups.
Deputy Commissioner, Leh urged the committee members to work towards increasing awareness about the benefits of Aadhaar and to address any grievances or complaints related to its implementation.
Deputy Commissioner was also briefed on the initiatives being undertaken to speed up coverage of the age groups of 0-5 years in district Leh.
It was informed in the meeting that special camps were held in the remote areas of Rupsho and Nyoma blocks with mobile VSAT based vans which proved useful to avail services in these remote areas.
He asked to launch mass awareness campaigns in Schools to push the saturation process further. Also, asked to organize camps at District Police Lines and different units of Ladakh police to provide Aadhar services to police personnel.
During the meeting, it was informed that MC Leh is the registration authority for municipal areas and BMO in rural areas under birth and death registration act as per the latest order issued by GAD. Also, it was informed that the Civil Registration System is implemented in Leh district, and birth and death registration is being done on the CRS. He also reviewed the status of these registrations with linkage of aadhaar. ALBR is the Aadhaar-linked birth registration at the time of the birth of a child and its integration with the national platform of CRS would make the process of birth registrations instant and hassle-free
Discussing the vacant post of operators at various Aadhar Centers, Deputy Commissioner directed Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Leh to resolve issues in Thiksay, Skurbuchan, and Panamik blocks at the earliest.
Earlier, the DC was informed that as many as 41 Aadhar enrolment centers including 8 in SSA(School Education) and 4 tablets in ICDS, 3 tablets in SNM hospital are presently operational in Leh to facilitate citizens to get Aadhar cards besides update already issued cards.
DC directed to ensure proper operationalization of Aadhaar centers in the banks. He directed J&K Bank to make Aadhaar center in Tangtse branch on urgent basis.
