DC Leh chairs Rogi Kalyan Samiti District Hospital meeting,addresses key healthcare issues
Leh, Mar 12, 2024: Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve chaired a meeting of the governing body (GB) of Rogi Kalyan Samiti of SNM Hospital Leh in presence of Councillor, Upper Leh, Phuntsog Stanzin Tsepag in the DC Conference hall on March 12.
During the meeting, Medical Superintendent, SNM Hospital, Leh Dr.Rinchen Angmo gave an overview of the SNM Hospital, Leh such as the number of sanctioned beds ,shortages of nurses, and number of cancer patients.She further emphasized that a cumulative total of 5,175 beneficiaries under PMJAY have been registered at SNM Hospital Leh, with 11,733 golden cards issued to date.
Similarly, discussion was also held on accident and emergency wards which deals with the shortage of nurses and beds. She stressed on the importance of ICU strengthening and anesthesia.
In addition to the acknowledged challenges, she highlighted the significant achievement of Lap Chole procedures being performed regularly at SNM Hospital. The report indicated that the total number of Lap Chole procedures conducted annually exceeds 200, marking a considerable milestone in surgical care.
DC Leh approved the expenditure of several proposals during the financial year 2023-2024 which include partition panel conformity to technical requirements, repair and maintenance and transport charges, CCTV camera items for accident and emergency blocks, patient waiting bench, repair and renovation of hospital canteen and various other works of SNM Hospital such as installation and construction.
Additionally, some new agendas were also highlighted for HDF Expenditure during the meeting which were repair and renovation of laundry, shed store for ICU, aluminum locker section for bedding of attendants, printing of I,EC materials for OPD and wards, aluminum shed for plumber and purchase of electronic items.
DC Leh further stressed that the shortage of staff will be taken into consideration but until then the performance of the hospital shouldn’t be affected in any way. He also applauded Dr.Rinchen for bringing all the agendas into limelight and for constantly working towards the improvement of the hospital.
DC Leh also directed the Medical Superintendent to prepare a proposal regarding the shortage of paramedical staff to District Administration at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Medical Officer,Leh; Chief Planning Officer,Leh; District Superintendent Engineer, PWD Circle and all the concerned district officers of Leh.
