DC Leh Convenes Meeting to Discuss Creation of PMJAY Cards

Leh, March 15, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, chaired a meeting to discuss the creation of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PMJAY) cards for school-going children and government employees in Leh district on March 15, at the Video Conference Room, DC Office Leh.

A detailed presentation was made to provide the status of PMJAY cards in Leh district, revealing that 76,102 cards have been created so far, out of a target of 90,826, excluding children below five years of age. The challenges faced in achieving the target were also discussed during the meeting.

To meet the target, DC Leh directed the Chief Education Officer to set up camps at various schools. He also called for a meeting with private schools to amplify the target set. Additionally, the Chief Medical Officer and other officials were instructed to conduct an awareness campaign to increase the creation of PMJAY cards.

The PM-JAY scheme offers a fully government-financed health insurance/assurance scheme, providing a cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empaneled hospitals in India.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer Leh, Director ABDM UT Ladakh, Chief Medical Officer Leh, Chief Education Officer, AD FCS&CA Leh, DPM NHM Leh, Assistant Manager UIDAI Leh.
