DC Leh Santosh Sukhadeve chairs DCDC meeting
Leh, July 19: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve chaired District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) meeting at DC mini Conference Hall.
DC Leh stresses the importance of the Cooperative movement and how it benefits society on a large scale for their economic empowerment and income generation.
He further emphasised on timely adoption of model by-laws by all primary agriculture credit societies (PACS) to make them economic generation resources.
Further, he instructed the concerned departments to work in complete synergy for smooth convergence of PACS with schemes on the ground level and setting up of Jan Aushadhi Kendras at all required spots in the district.
During the meeting, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Leh, Mohammad Abbas presented an overview of the present status of Cooperative Societies in the district besides deliberating upon the work being done to strengthen the Cooperative movement across the district. He further briefed on targets to establish more Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and computerization of them and briefed on Farmer Producer Organisations (FPO) along with various schemes.
The meeting was attended by the ADDC, ACR, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, DDM NABARD, representatives of departments such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Sheep husbandry as well as Co-operative bank and SIDCO.
