DC Leh Santosh Sukhadeve chairs meeting to discuss proposal submitted under VVP
Leh, August 28: Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve convened a meeting to discuss the proposals submitted under Vibrant Village Program (VVP) as well as their impact and benefits tailored to the needs of the specific villages to achieve holistic development with concerned stakeholders today at DC Conference Hall.
At the outset, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Leh briefed the DC about the focus areas of intervention and various projects viz housing and village infrastructure, Road Connectivity, Community infrastructure, Tourism, Off-Grid Electricity, Eco-System Regeneration, Telecom and internet connectivity, etc, their estimated cost, expected benefits as well as action status in various villages of Durbuk, Chushul, and Nyoma blocks.
DC Leh highlighted the vision and goals of the Vibrant Village Programme and reiterated the significance of development focusing on these 35 hamlets. Directions were given to the concerned departments to complete the pending Detailed Project Report (DPR) in a time-bound manner.
He also emphasised the departments to ensure a hundred percent saturation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and directed them to cover all eligible beneficiaries focusing on individual-oriented beneficiaries.
Further, he stressed on organising one program/activity each month in every hamlet by the departments, and to ensure that the activity calender with proper information is uploaded.
Additionally, he stressed the need for coordination among different departments and stakeholders involved in the program for smooth execution of plans for the development of border villages as envisaged in the Vibrant Village Programme.
The meeting was also attended by Councillor, Korzok Constituency; Councillor, Chushul Constituency; ADDC Leh; ACR Leh; Superintendent Engineer, Hydraulic; CMO Leh; CAHO Leh; DSHO Leh; CAO Leh; AD, FCS&CA; ARC Leh; DYSSO Leh and officials/officers from PHE, Irrigation, tourism departments and others.
