DC, MD JJM J&K review progress on JJM schemes in Rajouri
RAJOURI, AUGUST 05: District Development Commissioner Rajouri Om Prakash Bhagat and Mission Director Jal Jeevan Mission J&K, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Itoo, today chaired a detailed review meeting of JJM flag ship programme in district Rajouri. The meeting was held as a follow-up of directions given by the Chief Secretary & Financial Commissioner Jal Shakti Department, during the review of Jal Jeevan Mission in the UT on 3rd August, 2024.
A detailed presentation was made by the Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic circle Rajouri regarding the status of implementation of the mission in the district, wherein it was informed that 298 Schemes at an estimated cost of Rs. 1740 crores have been planned to cover all its 1.33 lakh rural households with Functional household Tap Connections (FHTCs) by building adequate infrastructure in the shape of 24 dug-wells, 174 bore-wells, 107 Rapid sand Filtration Plants, 09 Over Head Tanks and about 16500 KMs of pipe network besides 261 lift stations.
It was further informed that almost all the civil works have been awarded and the execution on 590 such components out of 629 have started on ground, which are at different stages of physical completion.
The meeting discussed the timelines for completion of the schemes and directed for focusing on the immediate development of remaining sources and installation of pumping machinery to start the operation of the schemes in which storages and other civil structures have been completed. The meeting was also attended by the team of consultants and the District level Project Monitoring Units (DPMUs) which have been established for providing the technical advice and monitoring of the implementation of the mission at UT and district levels. Mission Director reiterated the directions of the Chief Secretary J&K and the Additional Chief Secretary Jal Shakti Department for concurrent inspection of the schemes by the Consultants and the Project Managers of the DPMUs for ascertaining the technical feasibility and the source sustainability aspects.
