DC Poonch conducts extensive tour of Surankote Sub-Division, oversees developmental works
Interacts with locals, resolves grievances, Directs authorities to expedite ongoing projects
POONCH, JULY 02: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary conducted an extensive daylong tour of the Surankote sub-division here today.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDM Surankote Farooq Khan; BRO Officer O.P. Sharma; Executive Engineer PMGSY Imtiaz Mir; Executive Engineer R&B Showket Choudhary and other concerned officers and officials.
The DC inspected the Surankote to Buffliaz road and interacted with the local residents to listen to their grievances. He ensured the resolution of genuine issues on the spot and directed the SDM, Collector Defence Rajouri-Poonch, BRO officers, and the contractor to expedite the work and address the public demands.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited the Mandi Phagla PMGSY road at Fazlabad, where a part of the bridge was damaged due to heavy rains three days ago, causing a disruption in traffic. He directed the PMGSY department to complete the repair work within three days. Additionally, he inspected the ongoing construction of a second bridge near the Buffliaz road and instructed the authorities to ensure the quality of work.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner visited various projects being executed by the Rural Development Department (RDD) and directed the R&B department to complete the blacktopping and macadamization of 1.2 km road stretch connecting Surankote and Buffliaz with the Mandi Phagla PMGSY road within a week.
During the tour, several delegations met with the Deputy Commissioner and projected different demands, which he assured to address in the near future.
