DC Poonch launches awareness campaign to encourage filing of Online Pension Applications
POONCH, August 07: : In a significant stride towards creating an inclusive society and ensuring equitable access to government pension schemes, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary, the other day, flagged off a dedicated vehicle as part of the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities.
The primary objective of this campaign is to raise awareness among the general public, including elderly citizens who may face challenges in accessing online services, regarding the online application process for various pension schemes such as Old Age Pension, Widow Pension, Transgender Pension, and Disabled Pension.
District Social Welfare Officer, Mohinder Paul, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting that the vehicle will traverse through every nook and corner of the district, reaching out to villages and ensuring that individuals with limited literacy skills can benefit from the advantages offered by online schemes.
Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary underscored the importance of bridging the digital divide and ensuring that every eligible individual can easily access their pension. The campaign aims to empower individuals by providing them with detailed explanations of the online schemes and guiding them through the necessary steps to access their pensions via the Jan Sugam Portal, the designated online platform for these services.
Furthermore, the campaign emphasizes the need for all eligible individuals who have not yet filled the online pension form to utilize this opportunity and complete the process. By doing so, the district’s goal of achieving 100% saturation on pension coverage will be realized.
The District Social Welfare Officer, Mohinder Paul, extended his gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Yasin for his unwavering support and encouragement in launching this campaign.
