DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Urs at Thanpeer and Doda Shankh Ziarat
Inspects Tourist Facilities, addresses developmental issues raised by locals
POONCH, JULY 06: Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary along with a team of officials on Thursday visited Thanpeer and Doda Shankh Ziarat to review the arrangements for the upcoming Urs Festival.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tahir Mustafa Malik; CEO Poonch Development Authority, Dr Mohammad Tanveer Khan; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi; Tehsildar Mandi, Shazad Latief Khan; XEN PWD, Yasir Bashir Khicloo besides all concerned officers accompanied the Deputy Commissioner.
During the tour, the DC met with the management committee of the Ziarat to discuss the developmental scenario of the area and the arrangements for the annual Urs.
During his visit, the DC paid obeisance at the Dargah and offered a Chaddar – a traditional way of paying respect to the shrine.
The DC was impressed by the natural beauty of the area and saw the view of the entire Poonch through binoculars from the top of Doda Shankh hill. He instructed the Chief Executive Officer PDA to develop the tourist infrastructure to attract tourists to the place to enjoy its natural beauty. This, in turn, can also become a source of income for the locals.
During the tour, he also met with several delegation and addressed public issues raised by the locals, including the construction of Saiklu to Saloonia road, Saloonia to Gali Road, maintenance of public health centers in Pindi area, water scarcity in Jandrolla, improvement of power supply scenario and the availability of medical staff in the border area.
After patiently listening to the public issues, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned officials to look into the matter and solve them on priority.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the main aim of the tour was to ensure the success of the Urs and address the developmental needs of the area .He also said that efforts of administration are expected to benefit the local community and promote tourism in the region.
