DC Poonch reviews ongoing Urban Local Bodies developmental works

POONCH, June 17: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary, today chaired a meeting to review the ongoing Urban Local bodies developmental works undertaken by Municipal Council Poonch.

President of Municipal Council Poonch, Sunil Kumar Sharma welcomed the Deputy Commissioner in Town Hall followed by CEO Municipality Poonch, Mohd.Hanief and all councillors.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Poonch, Maqsood Ahmed, Xen PWD, Yasir Kichloo, Inspector Municipality, Abdul Rehman, Adv. Rajinder Singh, and other concerned officers were present.

In the meeting CEO Municipality Poonch, Mohd.Hanief  briefed the Deputy commissioner about the various developmental works being carried out by the council.

Various issues pertaining to Municipal Council discussed including the cleaning of drainage system, FC Grant, capex budgets, stray dogs, beautification of Poonch town, Solid waste treatment plan etc.

For the beautification of Poonch town, the Deputy Commissioner issued direction to CEO Municipality install proper street lights from Sher E Kashmir Bridge to Court Complex Poonch and nearby area, Entry gate, and clock tower towards depicting the traditional culture of Poonch.

The DC directed the Xen PWD, Yasir Kichloo for the estimation of Entry Gate and design in traditional way.

The DC further asked the Municipal Council Poonch to create activity on Azadi ka Amrit Mohastav and upload it on the AKAM Portal, which is a commendable initiative.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch directed the officials of the Municipal Council Poonch to clean the drainage system before the monsoon season. He emphasized that it is important to ensure that the drainage system is free of any blockages or debris, to prevent water from entering public houses and causing problems.
