DC Poonch reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission Schemes, Zero Leakage Campaign
Emphasises on achieving targets, addressing water leakage issues
POONCH, JULY 04: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary on Tuesday chaired a meeting in the conference hall of the DC office complex to review the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes and the Zero Leakage Campaign launched under Mission Life.
Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle, Er Rajinder K Sharma, presented a detailed report of all the ongoing works under JJM and other schemes in the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need to achieve targets and address water leakage issues.
The field Engineers of the department were directed to regularly visit the sites and ensure construction under JJM strictly as per the timeline set by the government.
The Executive Engineer PHE Division Poonch was directed to ensure that all the JJM works are executed strictly as per specifications and completed as per the given timeline.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the effective execution of Zero Leakage Campaign to ensure efficient use of water resources. The concerned field Engineers and staff were made accountable for addressing any lapses in this regard, with strict action to be taken against non-performing officers.
The Deputy Commissioner urged all stakeholders to work collectively towards achieving the goals of Jal Jeevan Mission and Mission Life in providing safe drinking water to the public in the district.
Others who attended the meeting were Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch, Malikzada Sheraz Ul Haq, Divisional Forest Officer (T) Poonch, Suresh Manda Executive Engineer PHE Division Poonch , Riaz Ahmed alongwith all the AEEs, AEs and Junior Engineers of PHE Division Poonch were present in the meeting.
