DC presides over mega event on National Girl Child Day at Rajouri
RAJOURI, JANUARY 24: District Administration Rajouri, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, celebrated the National Girl Child Day with great enthusiasm and fervor, here today. The event took place in the Conference Hall of PWD Dakbanglow and was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, Om Prakash Bhagat.
In his address, the DC shed light on the significance of gender equality and the crucial role girls play in society. He emphasized the importance of providing education and ensuring the rights of girls, highlighting them as an integral part of our community.
Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat also highlighted the efforts of the government in providing education and economic opportunities to girls. Furthermore, he mentioned the transformative impact of women-centric schemes like “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao,” which have the potential to bring about a significant change in public mindset and enhance the participation of girls at all levels of growth.
During the event, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri also felicitated women achievers in academics, sports, and other important fields, recognizing their outstanding contributions. Additionally, four women ambassadors were also honored for their exceptional work in their respective domains. These commendations served as a testament to the dedication and perseverance exhibited by these women, inspiring others to strive for excellence.
To create awareness about the welfare schemes offered by different departments, stalls were set up by various departments at the venue. The event also featured cultural performances that added a vibrant and festive atmosphere to the celebration.
The National Girl Child Day event in Rajouri showcased the remarkable progress made in the district towards achieving gender equality and empowering women.
