DC presides over weekly Block Diwas programme at Kud

UDHAMPUR, JULY 31: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, presided over the weekly Block Diwas program at Dak Bangalow Kud in Block Chenani, District Udhampur.
The event was held to address public issues and concerns.
The program was attended by Additional District Development Commissione Rajinder Singh, DDC member Chenani, Usha Devi, DDC member Latti-Marothi, Pinky Devi, CEO PDA Devender Singh Bhau, and other senior officers. Former PRIs members and the general public from the adjoining panchayats also participated.


During the Block Diwas, former PRI members and general public raised several issues and demands, including Construction of the road from Patnitop to Gorikund, Proper checking of abnormally high electricity bills, Construction of a pink toilet at GHSS, Establishment of a floriculture garden in Panchayat Kud, Re-sanctioning of a grant for Panchayat Ghar at Lower Kud, Laying of water pipelines and installation of electricity poles in Lower Kud Panchayat, Addressing the shortage of teachers in Middle School Sangote and GHSS Bupp, Creation of ration cards for separate families, Establishment of a bore well, Filling of potholes on Kud Mada Road, Executing JJM works by involving local communities, Prioritizing the renovation of mall road by PDA.


Responding to the demands and issues raised by the public, the Deputy Commissioner assured the public that their genuine issues would be addressed in a timely manner. She directed the officers to work in coordination to ensure equitable development across all panchayats in the block. The officers were instructed to prioritize the resolution of genuine public demands and submit detailed reports on pending issues for consideration by higher authorities.


The DC emphasized the importance of working with dedication to ensure that the people of the area are not deprived of their legitimate demands. She urged officers to raise awareness about income-generating and beneficiary-oriented schemes launched by the Government.


The DC highlighted the significance of the Swachhata Pakhwada campaign and called for active participation in the cleanliness drive. She stressed the responsibility of the public in maintaining cleanliness, especially with the increasing tourist footfall in the area. The DC directed all Sub-Divisional level officers to organize cleanliness and plantation drives in their respective area including offices under the campaigns “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and Swachhata Pakhwada.


The DC laid emphasis on the JK Samadhan portal, encouraging people to register their grievances for prompt redressal.
