DC Pulwama chairs Public Outreach programme under Block Diwas at Sambora panchayat of block Pampore
PULWAMA, AUGUST 02: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today chaired a public outreach camp as part of weekly Block Diwas programme at Sambora Panchayat of Block Pampore.
A large number of delegations from different Panchayats, besides scores of individuals attended the outreach programme and apprised the DC about the issues, grievances and demands including augmentation of power scenario, macadamization of rural roads, completion of pending development works, water shortage, strengthening medical infrastructure, settlement of revenue records, etc.
During the Public hearing, deputation from Panchayat samboora apprised the DC about the issue of land requirements for upgrading the school building at samboora. The locals said that the school building is in dilapidated conditions and there is urgent need for transferring adjacent land for construction of a fresh school building.
Further DC was also apprised that due to wrong entries in revenue records people are facing difficulties in getting proper revenue extracts and records.
Visiting delegations also raised issues regarding the provision of various services like revenue extracts, domicile certificates, caste certificates, dependency certificates, registration for various individual benefit schemes including social Security schemes before the DC.
After giving patient hearing, the DC issued instant directions to CEO Pulwama to project the demand for school building in next year’s Plan and in the meantime Tehsildar concerned will process the preparation of land transfer for the same.
Regarding wrong revenue entries, Tehsildar was directed to submit a factual report through ADC Awantipora within weeks time. He also directed ADC Awantipora to sit with the elders of the village and ensure the land identification in time bound manner for various projects
On the issue of construction of the marriage Hall, DC asked Tehsildar to identify suitable pieces of land and urged PRI, BDC &DDC members to pool funds from Area Dev. grants for its construction under Convergence with MGNREGA resources.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized the importance of creating a mass movement against drug abuse. He said that people should be made aware of the hazards of drug abuse and elaborate efforts are required to identify drug peddlers and their connivances along with reporting of drug abuse cases to make the region drug free.
Dr Basharat also inspected the stalls installed by different departments and enquired about the benefits/ schemes being provided by these departments to the general masses.
On the occasion, the DC handed over Golden Cards to various beneficiaries. He also handed over the keys of one Tractor and one Hi-Tech Poly House in favor of Gh. Mohidin Bhat S/o Gh. Nabi Bhat R/o Tirch & Hamid Ullah Mir S/o Gh. Hassan Mir R/o Kakapora respectively with a subsidy amount of Rs. 2.00 Lacs each for its purchase under Capex 2023-24.
He also flagged-off the Hopper for door to door waste collection under SBM.
The DC was pleased with the fact that a number of grievances raised in the last block diwas have been resolved and assured that the fresh issues highlighted during the block diwas will be redressed through the concerned office in a time bound manner.
He said the issues concerning the policy will be projected to the government through the proper channel.
