DC Pulwama takes comprehensive review of Self Employment Schemes in district
PULWAMA, November 06: A meeting was today convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr.Basharat Qayoom to undertake a comprehensive review of various self-employment related schemes within the district.
The meeting, held to address employment initiatives, encompassed an extensive evaluation of multiple departments, including Employment, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, NRLM, Handicraft, Handloom, Sheep Husbandry, and Animal Husbandry.
In the pursuit of optimizing self-employment opportunities and enhancing the efficiency of schemes, the DC highlighted the imperative necessity to expedite case processing and eliminate procedural delays.
Emphasizing the goal of achieving full employment saturation in the panchayats, the meeting addressed the critical need to ensure timely and seamless disbursement and sponsorship alignment.
Furthermore, the banking institutions were directed to play a pivotal role in facilitating the expeditious clearance of pending cases, ensuring no backlog and swift processing of all applications. The imperative of conducting awareness camps to facilitate the effective implementation of beneficiary-oriented schemes at the grassroots level was also underscored.
In the review meeting, it was noted that in the fiscal year 2023-24, self-employment schemes have made significant strides in job creation within the district. With 2,429 cases sanctioned, they’ve successfully generated employment for 10,356 individuals. A total of 63 crore rupees has been disbursed, indicating substantial financial backing for these initiatives.
The meeting explicitly addressed resolving any issues related to disbursement to prevent the accumulation of pending cases, guaranteeing the smooth and rapid implementation of employment-related initiatives.
The DC emphasized the collective commitment to expedite processes and alleviate any bottlenecks in the execution of employment schemes, ensuring these opportunities reach the intended beneficiaries.
