DC Rajouri flags off PRIs, Water Shed committee members for Exposure Tour to NIRD Hyderabad
RAJOURI, June 22: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today flagged off a group of 34 PRIs and Water Shed Committee members of the Integrated Water Management Program (IWMP) Project for a training cum exposure tour to the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD), Hyderabad. Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Sheraz Chowhan and District Panchayat Officer, Auqil Nuvaid were among others present at the event.
The Deputy Commissioner said that IWMP Project is a flagship initiative of the Government that seeks to promote sustainable development in the rural areas of the district through integrated water resources management. The exposure tour to the National Institute of Rural Development – Hyderabad is a significant step towards achieving this goal. The tour will provide the sarpanches and panches an opportunity to learn about best and latest practices in integrated water resources management and engage with experts in the field.
While interacting with the PRIs, Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal emphasized the importance of such exposure tours in promoting sustainable rural development through integrated water resources management. He exhorted them to share the outcome of exposure visit and training with all the stakeholders.
He expressed his confidence that the tour would help the sarpanches and panches in comprehending the challenges faced by rural communities in managing their water resources and equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to address these challenges.
