DC Rajouri inspects ongoing projects of PWD(R&B) in Nowshera Sub division
RAJOURI, JANUARY 12: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing developmental projects of the Public Works Department in Nowshera subdivision, today.
Inspecting the 100-bedded Mother Child Care Hospital in Lamberi, strategically positioned on NH144A, he was informed that the project is coming up at a cost of Rs 37.55 crores with three floors. The facility slated to complete by January 2026, would cater to the critical Maternal & Child Health needs of residents of Rajouri and Poonch.
Emphasizing the importance of maintaining high construction standards, Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat directed the concerned officers to aim for early completion. He also visited the proposed site for the doctor’s quarter and highlighted the commitment of the Government to improving healthcare access in remote areas.
Envisioning the MCH Hospital in Lamberi as a cornerstone for Maternal & Child Health services, the Deputy Commissioner stressed its role in providing comprehensive care for normal and high-risk pregnancies, as well as facility-based care for newborns.
This initiative reflects the unwavering dedication of the Government to the well-being of the region’s residents. Once operational, the Mother Child Care Hospital in Lamberi will serve as a crucial healthcare hub, enhancing the quality of life for people in Rajouri and Poonch. Furthermore, the hospital’s strategic location on the Jammu Poonch highway holds significance, improving connectivity and emergency response capabilities in the region.
Later, Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat also inspected the remodeling of HSS Lamberi, costing Rs 7.9 crores and scheduled for completion in September 2024, along with the Farmers Training Institute building in Lamberi, estimated at Rs 7 crores and set to be completed by June 2024. The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to work with an added zeal to ensure that the projects are completed well before the set deadlines so that necessary benefits are provided to the public with the completion of work on the projects.
Accompanying the Deputy Commissioner were officers, including Executive Engineer PWD(R&B) Nowshera, VK Raina, AE Hitesh Sharma, and others from the Public Works Department.
