DC Rajouri inspects Progress of BGSBU Road Project
RAJOURI, AUGUST 24: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today conducted on-site inspection to evaluate the progress of ongoing up-gradation of the Baba Gulam Shah Badsha University road project.
Being executed by the Public Works Department (PWD) Rajouri division, the road project aims to provide seamless connectivity to approximately 10,000 people, including the students and faculty of the University.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner urged the stakeholders to ensure the project’s timely completion. He emphasized that the project’s completion holds immense significance in terms of providing improved connectivity to the general public.
Costing Rs 26 crore, the 8 km road project is currently underway, with 4.5 km having been blacktopped and the remaining stretch making steady progress.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed for efficient utilization of resources and manpower by the concerned officers to expedite the project’s completion. The BGSBU Road serves as a vital link connecting Rajouri with nearby villages and the University.
Appealing to the public for cooperation, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the project’s potential to elevate connectivity and enhance the region’s overall development.
Present during the inspection were Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Imran Rashid Kataria; Executive Engineer PWD(R&B), Sardar Khan, and other officers.
