DC Rajouri reviews Drug Control Measures at NCORD Committee meeting

RAJOURI, October 17: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, chaired a meeting of the District Level NCORD Committee.

The meeting provided a dedicated platform to deliberate upon and invigorate the ongoing measures to combat the pervasive issue of drug abuse within the district.

The meeting was attended by the SSP, Amrit Pal Singh; ADC Rajouri, Rajiv Kumar Khajuria; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; PO ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik; ACD, Vijay Kumar; CEO Education, Sultana Kouser; CMO, Dr Rajinder Sharma; MS DH, Dr. Mehmood Bajar and other concerned officers.

A crucial focus of the discussion was the enforcement of regulations on registered pharmaceutical shops to prevent their certificates from being misused by drug peddlers. The efficacy of various awareness campaigns, including those conducted in educational institutions, unique events such as special sports tournaments held were thoroughly scrutinized and reinforced.

The ACD was instructed to establish Panchayat-level committees as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat initiative. The DYSSO was tasked with coordinating Nasha Mukt Games, special events aimed at educating and raising awareness among the youth about the dangers of drug abuse.

The PO ICDS was tasked with the vital mission of enlightening and educating their beneficiaries about the dire consequences of drug abuse on Village Health and Sanitation Day. This initiative seeks to empower and inform individuals, equipping them with the knowledge required to combat the grave issue of drug addiction within the community, thereby fostering a healthier and safer environment for all.

During the NCORD Committee meeting, officers also shared insightful perspectives on strategies for combating drug abuse. Their valuable input contributed to a constructive dialogue aimed at formulating effective measures to address this pressing issue.

The Deputy Commissioner deliberated upon the agenda of the meeting regarding drug abuse and directed to different officers to strictly adhere to the directions passed. He also urged all stakeholders to work in tandem and make dedicated efforts to transform Rajouri into a drug-free district.

 Emphasizing the importance of keeping the youth on the right track, he called upon the officers to strengthen their synergized and comprehensive efforts in combating the drug menace.

The District Administration Rajouri remains steadfast in its determination to combat drug abuse and looks forward to continued support and collaboration from all stakeholders in creating a drug-free society.
