DC Rajouri reviews implementation of Social Welfare schemes

RAJOURI, April 04: Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting today to review the progress of the Social Welfare Department’s schemes and initiatives. 

The meeting began with a presentation on the progress made under various schemes, including pension schemes, State Marriage Assistance Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, Special Central Assistance to Scheduled Castes Sub Plan (SCA to SCSP), scholarship schemes and prosthetic aid distribution. The working of the Drug Deaddiction Centre and Addiction Treatment Facility Centre was also reviewed.

During the meeting, the DC instructed officers to ensure that developmental works being carried out under PMGAY and SCA to SCSP are completed at the earliest. He also took a detailed review of other schemes and programs of the Social Welfare Department like PMGAY, SMAS, scholarship schemes and pension schemes.

Regarding Aadhar seeding of accounts, Kundal directed that the bank accounts of beneficiaries of different schemes be linked to Aadhar to ensure they receive DBT benefits in their bank accounts.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt and Tehsil Social Welfare Officers.
