DC Rajouri reviews preparations for ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ Phase-2
RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 11 – Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, on Monday chaired a meeting to evaluate the preparations for the much anticipated second phase of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign, featuring the Amrit Kalash Yatras.
This four-tiered approach, spanning from villages to the national capital, is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, aims to instill a sense of national pride and unity among citizens.
Scheduled to commence from October 1st and end on October 13th, the campaign is geared to reach every corner of the district. During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal emphasized the significance of collecting soil from diverse villages to be placed in a communal Amrit Kalash at the block level.
In an impassioned address, he called upon all government departments to collaborate closely to ensure the campaign’s resounding success and encouraged their active involvement in various events, setting a benchmark for others to follow.
A pivotal aspect highlighted during the meeting was the creation of a festive atmosphere at the block-level program, where soil from various villages will be ceremonially combined in a single Amrit Kalash. Furthermore, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal underscored the need to pay homage to martyrs at the block level and directed the Assistant Commissioner Panchayats to facilitate this process.
The meeting also delved into the organization of cultural programs at the block level, designed to honor the bravehearts. These programs will involve the enthusiastic participation of volunteers from esteemed organizations such as NSS, NYKS, and NCC. Similar programs will also be conducted in municipal corporations, municipalities, and city councils in urban areas. Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal urged officers to work diligently, with a special focus on encouraging women’s participation and involving Anganwadi workers and youth volunteers.

The meeting witnessed the active participation of several officers, including Chief Planning Officer Mohammad Khurshid, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat . Sheraz Chowhan, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, all Executive Officers, Municipal Council representatives, and committee members.
