DC Ramban calls for timeline completion of JJM schemes

RAMBAN, DECEMBER 12: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary today chaired a meeting of officers to review the pace of progress on schemes being executed under Jal Shakti sector.

Reviewing the status of all 88 schemes of Jal Jeeven Mission, the Deputy Commissioner directed to prioritize the projects to complete and make these functional to provide water supply through Functional Household Tab Connection (FHTC) to people across the district.    

The Deputy Commissioner also directed to take strict action against contractors delaying the execution of work on JJM projects, saying that laxity in execution of work shall be viewed seriously.

Reviewing the schemes-wise status of works, the Deputy Commissioner directed to speed up the pace of work on projects taken up in snowbound areas of the district ensuring their timely completion to facilitate the people. He also sought scheme-wise status of the projects.

Responding to the issues highlighted by the officers of Jal Shakti Department, the DC resolved most of them on-the-spot and passed necessary directions on other issues to the concerned. 

The meeting was informed that out of the 4532 km requirement of GI pipes, 2139 km has been received and 1640 km has been laid so far. Out of 57453 rural households, 37735 have got connected and rest shall be connected by the end of this month, the meeting was informed.

Among others,  ADDC, Rajinder Sharma, ADC, Harbans Sharma, ACR, Giasul Haq,  CPO, Shakeeb Ahmad Rather, Superintendent Engineer Jal Shakti Hydraulic Circle) Doda, Anil Gupta,  Executive  Engineer, Jal Shakti Department Rajiv Ghai attended the meeting.
