DC Ramban chairs DLTF meeting on Mission Youth

RAMBAN, February 27: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired the meeting of District Level Task Force (DLTF) Committee to review the implementation of schemes of the ‘Mission Youth’, an initiative of the Government at district level.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal,  PO, ICDS, Janhangir Hashmi, ACR Gias-Ul- Haq, CPO, Ganesh Kumar, senior district and sectoral officers also attended the meeting. The SDM  of Gool, Ramsoo and Banihal were present through virtual mode.

After threadbare discussion on wide range of initiatives under the ‘Mission Youth’ including promotion of self-employment through various schemes, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to effectively implement the schemes related to their respective departments including Mumkin, Tejaswani, Tourist Village Network, Skill Development, SAHAYTA, AVSAR, PARVAAZ, promotion of Youth Clubs, Holding Talent Hunts and Mega Sports events to engage youth in positive activities.  

The DC directed SDMs to hold youth conferences in their respective areas. He also stressed about the awareness regarding Nasha Mukht Bharat through youth clubs across the district. The DC asked them to engage youth in plantation drives. He also asked the concerned officers to conduct exposure visits of youth in different places in the district.

As furtherance to youth engagement efforts, specific programmes are being organised across J&K till March 21 as per the specific suggestive activity schedule by the Department.

He urged all the concerned line departments to put in sincere efforts to facilitate the youth in availing benefits under the Mission Youth. He stated that it is the need of the hour that youth energy is channelized and directed for socio-economic development of the district.
