DC Ramban chairs special District Environment Committee meeting
Asks departments to prepare collective database of conservation activities
RAMBAN, October 07: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today convened a special meeting of the District Environment Committee to partner the general public in implementing the District Environment Plan besides compiling a database of its all components, especially which helps people to enjoy their day to day life without harming the nature.
Among others the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma, Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Kasturi Lal, DFO, Ramban, Rajan Singh, Divisional Officer, Pollution Control Board, Sanjay Rathore, Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Kichoo, Government Degree College, Banihal and various other concerned were attended the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner directed DFOs of all the divisions and wings of Forest Department functioning in the district including Forest Division Ramban, Batote, Social Forest Division, Ramban and State Forest Corporation besides wild life department to share the all requisite data with his officer to compile and upload on district website to ensure its regular monitoring and for the knowledge of general masses.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the officer of the Wild Life Department to provide updated data of their department for a similar action.
Discussing various parameters of environment, the Deputy Commissioner who is also the Chairman of the District Environment Committee directed the Divisional Officer, Pollution Control Board, to provide details regarding steps taken by the department to maintain the Environment parameters and status of solid waste management plants in municipalities of the district.
Earlier, Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Kichoo appraised the chair about the significance of collecting and uploading the data on the district’s website.
