DC Ramban discuss modalities for establishment of District Drug De-Addiction Centre

RAMBAN, February 27: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today convened a meeting of District “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan J&K’, Committee, to finalize the selection of NGOs short listed on e-anudan portal and establishment of the District Drug De-Addiction Centre in the District.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal Sharma, PO, ICDS, Jahangir Hashmi, CMO, Kamal Zadoo, CEO, Devanand, DSWO, Rahul Gupta, DCO, Imtiyaz Ahmed besides other concerned attended the meeting.

After a threadbare discussion, it was decided to establish a Drug De-Addiction Centre at the proposed site.

All the officers under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner unanimously decided that the Drug De-Addiction Centre will be established and mobilized by the stakeholder departments in coordination with District Administration.

Meanwhile, the CMO informed that regular Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities for De-addiction are being carried out at the Block level under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.

He further informed that in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, the Health Department has mobilized the drug addicts for registration in the District Drug De-addiction Centre.

Earlier, the DSWO informed the meeting regarding guidelines issued by the Government regarding the establishment of a Drug De-addiction Centre in the district to provide treatment and counselling to people, especially the drug addict youth.
