DC Ramban reviews preparedness for Intensified Mission Indhradhanush (IMI) 5.0
RAMBAN, July 13: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired District Task Force meeting to review preparedness for implementation of Intensified Mission Indhradhanush (IMI) 5.0, besides discussing different aspects related to execution of the road map formulated by the Government for Measles, Rubella elimination in the district.
The meeting was attended by PO ICDS, Jhangir Hashmi; CMO, Dr Kamal Zadoo; CEO, Devanand; Medical Superintendent DH, Dr Virender; Dy.CMO, Dr. Gurmeet Kour; District Immunization Officer, Dr Bashir Ahmed; WHO, SMO Jammu division, Dr Azmat Khan, BMOs and other officers of concerned departments.
The District Task Force has scheduled to conduct three rounds of Intensified Mission Indhradhanush (IMI) 5.0 and each round of IMI 2023 will be spread over 6 working days i.e., including Routine Immunization (RI) days. RI session plan will not be disturbed, and additional sessions should be planned in high risk areas not covered by RI.
The meeting was informed that the 1st round of IMI will be organized from August 7 to August 12, 2nd round from September 11 to September 16 and 3rd round from October 9 to Oct14 in the district.
Keeping in view that Ramban is in high risk priority districts – 2023, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Health Department to take all possible measures and lay focused attention on the Measles, Rubella Elimination in the district. He further directed to start the process of vaccination at the grassroots level, targeting children in the age group of 0-5 years.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to launch an intensified IEC campaign to create mass awareness, especially among the parents about Intensified Mission Indhradhanush (IMI) 5.0.
The DC also asked the District Task Force to ensure participation of people including PRIs, Lambardars, Chowkidars and other stakeholders under Jan Bhagidari to achieve desired targets under the Intensified Mission.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the CEO to submit a school wise list of children falling in the targeted age category to vaccinate them as per protocol.
Besides suggesting various measures to implement Intensified Mission Indhradhanush (IMI) 5.0, the PO ICDS assured that ICDS will extend full cooperation to the Health Department in the process.
