DC Ramban reviews progress of work on JJM Schemes
RAMBAN, March 4: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes being constructed to ensure access to safe and adequate drinking water facilities to all the households in the district.
Chief Planning Officer, Dr Kasturi Lal; Executive Engineer, JSD, Sudheer Kumar, AEEs, JEs and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the physical and financial progress of works of all sub divisions including Ramban, Banihal and Gool.
It was informed that a total of 88 schemes of JJM will cover the 33800 households across the district.
During the meeting, the issues related to provision of material were also discussed including availability of pipes, aadhar linkage etc.
Executive Engineer JSD informed that tenders for 83 JJM schemes have been issued of which 55 works have been allotted.
The DC asked the concerned officers and engineers to accelerate the pace of all works to ensure their time bound completion. He also exhorted the officers to put in coordinated efforts to achieve the target so that people are benefited at an earliest.
The DC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households must be achieved as per the projected timeline. He said that the Mission is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households.
He instructed all the concerned officers to scale up pace on works under JJM so that the target can be achieved within the stipulated period.
