DC Ramban reviews SANJY-2024 arrangements
RAMBAN, JUNE 13: The Deputy Commissioner, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, conducted a comprehensive review meeting today to assess and finalize the preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2024. The annual pilgrimage is set to commence on June 29, 2024.
The meeting was attended virtually by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Varunjeet Singh Charak, ACR, S Harpal Singh, ACD Srinath Suman, ACP Ashfaq Khanji, Executive Engineers, and all designated nodal officers.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for meticulous planning and coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra. He directed all nodal officers to ensure that adequate arrangements are made at the Yatri Niwas, Langer sites and other designated lodgment centers throughout the district. These centers are crucial for accommodating the influx of pilgrims during the Yatra.
Executive Engineers from JPDCL, Jal Shakti, and PWD have been tasked with ensuring adequate Power and Water Supply at all identified locations and lodgment centers. They were directed to complete these arrangements well in advance to cater to the needs of the pilgrims effectively.
The Public Works Department (PWD) is directed to expedite all assignments related to the Yatra to ensure that all facilities are operational ahead of time. The meeting also deliberated on making provisions for the early deployment of security forces to maintain a secure environment for the pilgrims.
To ensure all preparations are on track, the Deputy Commissioner will personally visit key locations and accommodations, including Yatri Niwas Chanderkote and Lamber Camp Banihal, among other locations designated for the stay of SANJY pilgrims.
