DC Reasi chairs DCDC meeting
REASI, OCTOBER 19: In order to increase the viability of PACs and diversify their business activities to make them vibrant economic entities, a meeting of District Cooperatives Development Committee (DCDC) held today under the chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal.
At the outset, a threadbare discussion was held with the members in which viability of grain/cold storage plan was discussed and necessary instructions were issued to Agriculture and allied departments in identifying areas which show increasing trend in grain production /need for cold storage for considering such PACs in the grain/cold storage plan.
They were also directed to provide the list of Farmers producers Organisations(FPOs )already formed so that uncovered blocks can be targeted through PACs.
The meeting also addressed district-wise targets for establishing new multipurpose PACs in uncovered panchayats, the PM Kisan Samridhi Kendra initiative through PACs, utilizing PACs as Common Service Centers, and establishing Jan Aushadi Kendras through PACs to improve access to generic medicines at the rural level.
District Project Manager NRLM was directed to work in coordination with Cooperatives department to involve SHG members in formulation of new mpacs/dairy/fishery cooperatives.
The Deputy Commissioner issued directions to the concerned departments to work in coordination in order to achieve the targets within stipulated time
The meeting was attended by Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Reasi Bhawani Atri ,Chief Agriculture Officer Harbans Singh , Chief Horticulture Officer Brij Vallabh Gupta Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Abdul Majeed, Deputy CMO Yusuf Khan, DPM NRLM Jugal Magotra and representatives from fisheries and Sheep Husbandry department.
