DC Reasi conducts extensive tour of Block Pouni

REASI, MAY 31: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal today conducted an extensive tour of Block Pouni and inspected a number of developmental projects of RDD, R&B, and Jal Shakti Departments. She was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineer PWD(R&B) Reasi, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Tehsildar Pouni and Block Development Officer, Pouni and other district officers.

The DDC inspected the Sports Stadium and one room near Ramleela Ground Kheral; Panchayat Ghar Mari and CSC building in Mari Panchayat. She also inspected houses built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. She directed the Block Development Officer to expedite the completion of houses where beneficiaries have received 2nd and 3rd installments.

The DDC also inspected construction of PWD(R&B) roads from Peer baba to Beulian South, Goad to Kothian and Bharakh to Molvi Nallah under NABARD. She also inspected construction of Govt  Degree College Building Pouni (Higher Education), construction of two additional classrooms at GHS Kheralair and remodeling/up-gradation of GHSS Bharakh (School Education).

She interacted with PRIs and discussed issues and bottlenecks faced while execution of construction of roads of PWD Departments. She   directed executing agencies to immediately redress the issues projected by the PRIs. The issue of non-payment of bills of the contractors was also raised. The Deputy Commissioner gave on the spot direction to the executing agency for completion of the roads within timeline and timely release of the payments to the contractors.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected Govt. Fruit Plant Nursery at Pouni and directed Chief Horticulture Officer Reasi to replace old and senile orchards with improved and latest cultivars.
