DC Reasi discusses I-Day arrangements
REASI, JULY 13: The arrangements for the Independence Day celebration in Reasi district were meticulously discussed by the administration in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan. The meeting included heads of various line departments and focused on the seamless execution of the event.
It was discussed that the main function will be held at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium, Reasi. The event will commence with the unfurling of the national flag by the chief guest, followed by a March past featuring contingents from the District Police, CRPF, NCC and students from various schools.
In addition to the parade, school children will present cultural programs showcasing the rich heritage of the state and the country. Various committees have been formed to oversee the arrangements.
The meeting also addressed logistics including seating arrangements, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water, power supply, sanitation, first aid, and deployment of fire tenders. A well-equipped ambulance with a team of doctors will be available on the day to ensure medical preparedness.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of illuminating all government and heritage buildings to add to the celebratory atmosphere. He urged all officers to finalize arrangements promptly to ensure a smooth and successful event. Additionally, he instructed all SDMs to celebrate I-Day in their respective sub-divisions, ensuring widespread participation.
