DC Reasi reviews implementation of JKRLM, PMAY urban scheme
REASI, NOVEMBER 23: District Development Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan conducted a thorough review of the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) department’s operations in Reasi. The meeting covered various aspects of JKRLM’s initiatives, discussing ongoing projects, achievements, challenges, and future plans to assess the department’s overall effectiveness.
During the meeting, the DDC directed JKRLM officers to set up information counters at key locations and tourist destinations in the district. These counters will serve as focal points for disseminating information about livelihood programs. Emphasizing attractive packaging, he also instructed officers to ensure product expiration dates are prominently displayed.
To empower self-help women, the DDC directed the identification of suitable locations for home stays, aiming to generate income and empower women in the community.
In addition to JKRLM, DDC Mahajan reviewed the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Urban in Reasi. He emphasized transparency and accountability by instructing Municipalities’ Executive Officers to collect mobile numbers of PMAY beneficiaries and conduct video calls for real-time monitoring of ongoing works on alternate days.
Furthermore, the DDC issued a directive to line departments involved in PMAY, urging efficient completion of works by December 31.
The emphasis was on ensuring beneficiaries promptly access the benefits of these schemes. The initiatives reflect a comprehensive approach to rural livelihoods and urban housing, with a focus on effective implementation and accountability.
