DC reviews functioning of PACS in Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 12: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai presided over a meeting of the District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) in the Mini Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, to assess the functioning of Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) l in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Ghan Sham Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer Sanjay Anand, Chief Horticulture Officer Brij Vallabh Gupta, and other officers addressing the key aspects such as the adoption status of model bye-laws by all 39 PACS, hardware procurement, selection of a system integrator for computerization, identification of PACS for convergence with the PM-KUSUM scheme, revival of cooperative sugar mills, formation of new FPOs by PACS, and revival of non-functional cooperatives.
The Deputy Registrar Cooperative was directed to take steps for revival of non-functional cooperative societies.
The meeting discussed district-wise targets for establishing new multipurpose PACS, the PMKSK initiative, formulation of Farmers’ Producer Organizations (FPOs) by PACS, identification of PACS for convergence with the PM-KUSUM scheme, utilizing PACS as Common Service Centers, and establishing Jan Aushadi Kendras to improve rural access to generic medicines.
The Deputy Commissioner issued several directives, emphasizing the need for close coordination among relevant departments to revitalize PACS in the district. She urged expedited action plans, emphasizing collaborative efforts to achieve all targets within the stipulated timeline.
