DC reviews implementation of JKREGP, other Self-Employment Schemes in Poonch
Seeks focus on maximizing coverage, Expediting Support to unemployed Youth

POONCH, FEBRUARY 18: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, chaired a meeting today at the DC Office Complex to evaluate the progress achieved in the implementation of the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) alongside other self-employment schemes, including PMEGP, MUMKIN and Tejaswini.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner inquired about the number of people benefited by these self-employment initiatives in the District, highlighting the critical need to maximize coverage by the implementing departments. He urged officials to bring maximum number of unemployed youth of the District under the umbrella of these government schemes, designed to promote employment opportunities.
Additionally, the DC called on bankers to ensure the prompt processing of applications, facilitating aspiring unemployed youths in establishing their income-generating units with minimal obstacles.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the General Manager of DIC Poonch, the Deputy Director of Employment, District Officer KVIB, the Lead District Manager, and other relevant officers.
