DC reviews progress achieved under District Capex Budget in District Kishtwar
2864 PMAY houses among 5283 works completed
KISHTWAR, JANUARY 16: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today assessed the developmental landscape of the district here at a comprehensive review meeting. The focus of the meeting was on evaluating the physical and financial progress achieved under the district Capex for the fiscal year 2023-24.
At the outset, JD Planning gave sector-wise physical and financial progress under the Capex Budget 2023-24. It was reported that a total of 1916 works were targeted for completion during the fiscal year, with various projects at different stages of completion.
Emphasizing the importance of speedy execution of works, the DC urged indenting and executing departments to ensure 100 percent completion of the targeted works. Additionally, he instructed departments to initiate new projects against works not undertaken or out of savings, maximizing benefits for the local population.
Reviewing the Annual Plan, it was disclosed that out of the available Rs 390 crore, 346 crore has been expended thus far, resulting in the completion of 5283 works.
Notable achievements include the construction of 2864 PMAY (rural) houses, 844 works under MGNREGA, 10 works under JJM, and 1562 other projects.
The district has made significant strides in infrastructure development, with 100 kilometers of macadamization completed out of the targeted 121 kilometers. Under Ayushman Bharat PMAJY, 84 percent of the targeted beneficiaries have been registered, with a claim disbursement of Rs 371.52 lakh, benefiting 5562 patients.
In the education sector, 1366 out-of-school children have been reintegrated into schools, with 25 schools secured by channeling and fencing efforts. Furthermore, 235 aspirants have received free online and offline NEET coaching.
Under other schemes, including the 14th Finance Commission, PMAY (Urban), and Self-Employment Schemes, significant progress has been achieved, providing housing, financial support, and employment opportunities to the residents of Kishtwar.
Dr. Devansh Yadav stressed the importance of focusing on irrigation plans, repairing bridges, renovating school buildings, and enhancing healthcare facilities.
Special attention was drawn to initiatives like establishing a Boxing ring and Shooting range for girls and implementing the PAS system in Block-level offices.
The meeting attended by Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal, ACD Kishtwar Manoj Kumar, DPO Sunil Bhutyal, All BDOs, and officers and officials of indenting and executing agencies, concluded with a commitment to further accelerate developmental efforts for the benefit of the community.
