DC Samba inspects renovation work on Mohargarh Heritage Site
SAMBA, DECEMBER 31: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma visited the Mohargarh Heritage Site today to review the ongoing works under the “Revival of Heritage” project.
The Mohargarh Heritage Site is a historical fort located in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the places in Jammu that has a rich cultural and architectural legacy. The “Revival of Heritage” project aims to restore and preserve the heritage structures and promote them as tourist attractions.
During his visit, Sharma inspected the progress and reviewed the quality and pace of the work. He directed the executing agency to expedite the work and ensure quality standards . He also interacted with the locals and highlighted the importance of the heritage sites as the historical milestones of a nation and source of inspiration for the future generations. He further underscored the importance of the community ownership of the heritage sites. He also announced plans for creating better facilities and amenities to make Mohargarh an attractive tourist destination. He said that the project would boost the local economy and generate employment opportunities for the youth.
“I hope that the Mohargarh Heritage Site will soon become a popular attraction for tourists and visitors from across the country and the world” he added. He said that the site would showcase the glorious history and culture of Samba District.
He also reviewed the augmentation of WSS for Samba town.
He was accompanied by Tehsildar Samba, PWD Department Engineers, Revenue and field officials, and Sarpanch Mohargarh
