DC Samba reviews I-Day arrangements, Swachhata Pakhwada-2024

SAMBA, AUGUST 10: District Development Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma today convened a comprehensive meeting to review the preparations for the upcoming Independence Day 2024 celebrations and the district-wide initiatives under Swachhta Pakhwada, Ek Ped Shaheedon K Naam and Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.


DC emphasized the need to expedite progress under the Swachhta Pakhwada initiative to achieve the district’s cleanliness targets. He highlighted the importance of meticulous planning and execution to ensure the success of these national campaigns.


The DC also visited Rani Suchet Singh Stadium, the designated venue for the Independence Day celebrations.


ADC Samba, Suresh Sharma, has been appointed as the Nodal Officer for the Independence Day 2024 celebrations. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the event to ensure its smooth execution. A circular will be issued to all government employees, mandating their attendance at the Independence Day event, with district officers ensuring the presence of their subordinate staff.


DC also directed that a list of awardees for the Independence Day event be submitted promptly. Additionally, a roster for the “Ek Ped Shaheedon K Naam” plantation drive is to be prepared, with a special focus on planting trees in government schools named after martyrs.


The Chief Education Officer (CEO) has been tasked with organizing functions in schools to honor the families of martyrs. These events will involve the participation of prominent citizens, ex-servicemen, social organizations, and NGOs.


Furthermore, the DC directed the organization of a district-level Tiranga Yatra, with particular attention to traffic management along the designated route. He also stressed strict adherence to the guidelines for the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2024.


The District Information Officer (DIO) has been assigned to monitor social media platforms to ensure effective communication and public engagement throughout these initiatives.


The meeting concluded with DC reiterating the importance of collective efforts and coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the Independence Day celebrations and associated campaigns are a grand success in the district of Samba.
