DC Samba reviews progress under Special Campaign 3.0
SAMBA, October 14: The Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, recently presided over a pivotal meeting regarding the “Special Campaign 3.0.” This campaign is set to focus on two vital aspects: promoting Swacchta (cleanliness) and minimizing pendencies within Government offices.
The DC directed the concerned officials to maintain an impeccable standard of cleanliness in their own offices.
In addition to this, officers were directed to capture ‘before and after’ images of their offices. This photographic documentation aims to showcase the transformation that will take place as part of this campaign.
Another significant aspect of the campaign is the identification and disposal of junk, obsolete, and surplus items. Each department was tasked with identifying such items and ensuring their disposal in accordance with existing rules and the General Financial Rules (GFR).
In an effort to streamline the work processes and efficiency, the meeting highlighted the importance of checking and ensuring the timely disposal of references. References received from the Prime Minister’s Office, parliamentary references, and Member of Parliament references are to be promptly addressed and disposed of.
In addition to these efforts, each department’s record keeper were tasked with scanning and digitizing legacy files. This digital transformation of files will facilitate easier access to information and help in efficient record-keeping.
To ensure the strict adherence to these directives, the Chief Planning Officer has been appointed as the nodal officer. The Chief Planning Officer will conduct random site checks to ensure that Government offices are following the prescribed guidelines.
In keeping with the growing concern for electronic waste, a nodal officer has been designated to manage e-waste.
The District Informatics Officer (DIO) from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) will take charge of this responsibility.
Additionally, the campaign has outlined specific areas of focus. Health facilities, municipalities, tourist places, and buildings under the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Power Development Department (PDD) have been given priority. These areas will receive special attention regarding cleanliness and space management.
The meeting was attended by several prominent officers, including the Project Officer Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Dr. Subhash Chander; Chief Planning Officer, Sukhleen Kaur; Sub-Divisional Magistrates from Ghagwal, Sunaina Saini, and Vijaypur, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, along with various other district officers.
