DC seeks cooperation of public to keep Udhampur town clean
UDHAMPUR, MAY 27: Stressing on the famous saying ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness, the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today appealed the general public of Udhampur town to cooperate with the administration in making the district clean and polythene free.
While briefing the media persons, the DC appealed to the public to work proactively towards ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of their home and surroundings to lead a healthy and hygienic life. He further urged the public to facilitate proper disposal of waste.
The DC also sought cooperation of public representatives in generating awareness among the masses regarding cleanliness. He elaborated the importance of sanitation and appealed to the general public to lay maximum emphasis on cleanliness and extension of green cover of the district through active participation.
Emphasising the need of cleanliness, the DC said that the District Administration has installed dustbins in different locations of the Udhampur town to focus on solid waste management, regular lifting of garbage, sanitation and beautification of the Town. He said it is not possible to keep the city clean without people’s participation.
