DC Shopian chairs DLIC meeting for implementation of PM Vishwakarma scheme
SHOPIAN, March 15: A meeting of District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) for implementation of PM Vishwakarma Scheme was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb at Mini-Secretariat, here.
It is worth mentioning here that the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was launched to uplift traditional Artisans and Craftspeople.
At the outset, the DC took a firsthand appraisal of the progress made so far with regard to registration of artisans (Vishwakarmas). He emphasized the importance of concerted efforts and urged officers to promptly identify and register the targeted beneficiaries.
Stressing the scheme’s significance in uplifting traditional artisans and craftspeople, the DC instructed officers to conduct an extensive information, education and communication (IEC) campaign to cover eligible beneficiaries across the district in all identified trades
The DC directed officers to achieve the targets for registration of beneficiaries under the scheme immediately.
The meeting was informed that 7800 registrations have been made so far in the District.
The DC also reviewed the ongoing training program for artisans and reviewed progress of tool kits registrations.
