DC Shopian reviews functioning of Private Educational Institutions

SHOPIAN, JULY 20: A comprehensive review meeting of private educational institutions of the district was today chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb to assess various aspects of their functioning.


During the review, status of recognition, conduct of parent association meetings, publicity of fee structure and approval from the fee fixation committee, implementation of Minimum Wages Act, uniform academic calendar, data updation on U-DISE, reservation for poor students, mechanism of Grievance Redressal System and other issues were discussed.


To ensure full utilization of all resources, the DC emphasized strict adherence to all guidelines of government for staff and student welfare, and directed all institutions to submit compliance especially on implementation of Minimum Wages Act, uniform academic calendar and saturation of reservation for EWS


Regarding parent-teacher meetings, the DC mandated regular monthly meetings to address any grievances from parents along with establishing grievance redressal and sexual harassment committees to address grievances effectively.


In his concluding remarks, the DC emphasized the importance of adhering to these guidelines to ensure the smooth functioning of private schools and the welfare of students and staff.


He reiterated the need for transparency, accountability and regular communication between schools, parents and authorities to foster a conducive learning environment.


The DDC assured that the administration would continue to monitor and support the schools in implementing the directives for academic benefit.
