DC Srinagar holds Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Theed Harwan
Inspects ongoing works of 220×33 KVA GIS SubStation, Irrigation Canal(Mahadev Kul) and Redevelopment/beautification works on Shalimar Canal
SRINAGAR June 14:- Continuing its endeavour to bring administration at the doorsteps of people and to listen to their developmental demands and ensure on spot resolution of their issues, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday held the Block Diwas programme at New Theed Harwan under weekly public outreach programme.
DDC Member, Theed, Haji Ali, BDC Member Dara, Mohammad Shabaan, other PRI members and people from various areas of Harwan Block including New Theed, Dara, Mulnar, Fakir Gujri were part of the Public Grievance Redressal Camp.
While, General Manager, DIC, Chief Planning Officer Srinagar, Chief Agriculture Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Tehsildar North, BDO Harwan, Executive Engineer R&B, Lead District Manager and other District Officers were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, local DDC and BDC members, PRI representatives projected various issues and development related demands before the Deputy Commissioner including issues regarding damages caused to Horticulture/Agriculture crops, correction in Revenue records, establishment of SFC Depot in the area, Social Welfare & irrigation related matters, protection from Wild Animals and other development related matters.
The DC interacted with the local people and received first hand appraisal about the public issues and demands.
He gave patient hearing to the people and passed on the spot instructions to the concerned Departments for time-bound redressal of public grievances.
The DC said the District Administration is taking all possible measures to ensure better civic facilities to the people particularly living in remote areas of the District.
On the occasion, the DC directed the concerned for holding Medical camp at Harwan to facilitate the people particularly the physically challenged at their doorsteps for providing different kinds of Medical certificates. He also asked for providing solar lights to the local farmers so that lights are installed to protect crops from damages caused due to wild animals.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner visited various developmental sites including 220*33 KVA GIS Substation at Harwan.
While inspecting the GIS Substation Station being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 76 crore, the DC directed the concerned to accelerate the pace on the prestigious power project to ensure its completion by July, 2023. He said by commissioning the power Grid Station people of adjoining hamlets including Harwan, Tailbal, Burzuhama, Zukura will be benefited by way of improvised power supply.
The DC also visited inspected the Irrigation canal(Mahdev Kul) theed and inspected the works taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 30 lakh for its upgradation.
During the visit, the DC also inspected the works being carried out on Rs 16 crore project being executed on redevelopment and beautification of Shalimar Canal. He also took stock of the parking spaces being established at the Shalimar Garden.
On the occasion, the asked the concerned executing agency to speed up the project and complete the same by August, 2023.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the ongoing Redevelopment/Beautification works being executed on Shalimar Canal and road adjoining Shalimar Garden. The DC was informed that project in being carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 16 crore and is targeted to be completed by August.
